Shoulder Pain Relief in Moseley

The shoulder is one of the hardest-working joints in your body — it’s involved in almost everything you do, from getting dressed, to lifting your kids, to playing sports, to reaching for a mug on the top shelf. That’s why when it stops working properly, you notice fast.

If you’ve been getting by on heat pads, ice packs, painkillers, or even a sling, you’ll know these things can take the edge off – but they don’t usually get to the bottom of what’s actually going on.

Instead of resorting to these temporary measures, why not try visiting us at our Birmingham Chiropractic Clinic?

What Causes Shoulder Pain?

Shoulder pain can have a number of possible causes, including:

  • A trapped or irritated nerve
  • Rotator cuff tendinitis
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Acromioclavicular (AC) joint irritation
  • Reduced scapulothoracic mobility (movement of the shoulder blade across the rib cage)
  • Sports injury, or repetitive strain injuries
  • Postural strain from desk work, or driving

Our Chiropractor Lisa will take the time to listen to your symptoms. Then carefully assess your shoulder and the rest of your body, to identify what’s likely to be causing the problem. She’ll then put together a personalised plan of care.

The Approach at Zest Chiropractic

Lisa practices Advanced Biostructural Correction (ABC™), a method that looks at how the whole posture and spine may be contributing to shoulder problems, rather than treating the shoulder in isolation. She’s one of only two chiropractors in Birmingham trained in this method.

Depending on what’s found, a plan of care may also include rehabilitation exercises to help support and strengthen the shoulder over time, rather than just addressing symptoms as they come back.

Every patient is different — but many people find that with the right plan, shoulder pain that’s been holding them back starts to feel more manageable, with movement and activity becoming easier.
